Gerry Adams On Why He Never Joined The IRA

Alice in Wonderland-time again folks. In this extensive, pre-‘retirement’ interview today (Sunday) with the BBC’s Andrew Marr (see below), Gerry Adams explains why he never joined the IRA. Another foray down the rabbit hole is coming mid-week with the broadcasting on TV3 of Vincent Browne’s two part profile of Mr Adams in which, while VB apparently extensively examines GA’s IRA career and accepts that he was not just a member but a senior member, he places responsibility for disappearing Jean McConville and others on former Chief of Staff, Sean MacStiofain not Gerry Adams. Mr MacStiofain, conveniently, is dead, and cannot answer back. As for me, I am off to the Mad Hatter’s party this afternoon for a refreshing pot of tea and some cream buns, after I watch Spurs trounce Liverpool!

  1. I love the slack jawed expression on Marr’s face at 5:28.

  2. I hope you are right! About Spurs I mean? As for Gerry. Some people will believe anything won’t they!

    Keep well

    Derrick.
