Gareth Mulvenna, author of a fascinating study of the Tartan Gangs of Belfast in the 1970’s – see this review – has himself entered the often uncomfortable world of book reviews and has put Aaron Edwards’ book on the UVF: ‘The UVF – Behind the Mask’ – under the microscope. He has found it, how shall I put it, less than satisfying.
