‘Loadsa Money!’ – Clear Sign Stormont Will Return

‘Follow the money’, is usually the best advice when seeking other people’s motives and intentions. The headline and story below from a late edition of The Irish Times, is perhaps the clearest indication yet that a deal will be made to restore the Stormont government.

It’s the one thing both the DUP and the Shinners have no difficulty agreeing. The rest will follow. You just can’t keep those snouts away from the trough!

Frustration and disappointment at collapse of talks but MLAs plan to work all summer

Northern Ireland’s 90 Assembly members should continue to be paid through the summer despite the collapse of the Stormont talks, the DUP and Sinn Féin have insisted.

Just one question though. All 90 Assembly members negotiating the same deal? Do they have a room big enough?
