America’s mainstream media, sensing that the gunman’s failed attempt to kill Donald Trump has shifted the odds to favour the Republican candidate in November’s presidential election, are already bending the knee to a man whose life is a catalogue of dishonesty and cheating, both to business partners, female partners and last but not least the voters.
The failed attempt on his life, carried out by a young man whose motives are still unclear, has elevated Trump to an almost untouchable status and America’s hacks are prostrating themselves accordingly. This is not an unusual stance for America’ journalists, as anyone who witnessed post 911 journalism in practice can tell you, when cowardice on an immense scale eased the way for George W Bush and his sidekick, Dick Cheney to destabilize Iraq, much of the Arab world and facilitate the growth of Al Qaeda.
The Arab world has still not recovered from the ordeal. American journalists, with some exceptions, simply accustomed themselves to the new reality.
Yesterday morning (Monday) America’s most popular breakfast television show, Morning Joe, was pulled for the first time in its history when MSNBC bosses, who own the show, cancelled it because of unspecified items dealing with Trump and the unsuccessful attempt on his life. What was said, by whom and to whom remains a mystery.
That’s how censorship operates – in the dark and secretly. As we approach election day, we can only expect more. If Trump wins, God knows what will happen to American journalism.

American journalism has been in the doldrums for years thanks to partisanship (look at how Big Tech clamped down on anyone reporting the Hunter Biden story) and the rush to get the story out first regardless if it was completely wrong (Covington Catholic school business). No wonder trust in the mainstream media is at an all time low.
