   I’m currently reading ‘Voices from the Grave’ and I find it fascinating. They were clearly both intelligent people. I was just wondering what the decision process was for which names were redacted and which weren’t?

     Basically, if ‘controversial’ names of still living people appeared, e.g. while involved in violence, they were redacted. Otherwise no cuts……

       Interesting, thank you. I also see referenced an unpublished work by yourself and Anthony McIntyre called ‘The Security Department: IRA Counter Intelligence in a 30-year War Against the British’. Was this ever published? As I’m sure this would be an interesting read

   All these blogs about the Provos not being Republican/Left-wing/or whatever you’re having yourself! Just beating the air. The provos were invented because the Republicans (IRB version, or Lynch-ite Free State version, and all the other versions) fell at the first or second jump. Whereas the Provos challenged the state and fought it to a stand-still. No matter if they called themselves Commies, or AOH, or Hobbits. The beleaguered people they fought for are satisfied with what they did. For now anyway. “For now” is all that matters for now. What 26-Co. Sinn Féin makes of itself doesn’t matter to that outcome.
