Maureen O’Connell RIP

I am very sorry to report the death of a good friend Maureen O’Connell who passed away yesterday after a brave struggle with cancer at her home in Charleston, South Carolina. Maureen was a great researcher, dogged and professional and she helped me with a number of articles for this blog, notably researching the background of Patrick Keefe, who wrote the controversial account of the death of Jean McConville, ‘Say Nothing’. Maureen will be greatly missed by the wider Irish-American community and I was proud to call her a friend.
